The campground is beautiful and very well maintained. The comfort station was always clean and stocked. We enjoyed fishing on the lake. It was exceptionally beautiful early in the mornings with the fog across the water. We enjoyed making trips into Ellijay and exploring the nearby apple barns.

Whata wonderful park this is. The camp sites are large and spacious and are a great distance from each other. Great privacy. Hated that the fall foliage was not in full color, but the camp ground had nothing to do with that. Only 10 miles from Ellijay with good roads all the way. I indefinably would stay there again.

Great view for fall! A lot of acorns was the only down fall.

We enjoyed how quiet it was. I had read that fishing was best done by boat on Carter Lake. We tried fishing most of the time....but kept getting hung up 90% of the time. So if there are "recommended locations" to bank fish that would be good info to know. Great overlooks. We will be back hopefully next time with a boat.

Just a lovely place we plan to visit again. Site 22 is too narrow for rigs with deep (2.5' or more) slides and mo ride fold down steps.

We were a little disappointed that the host was not easy to find. When he rode by, we asked about purchasing firewood to find out we had to go back to town to buy some. It wouldn’t have been an issue if we had known before we arrived. And site 4 was nice, but the time of year, fall, was not pleasant with all the acorn bombs falling on the camper. Otherwise, the park is pretty and the weather was perfect.
