It’s very difficult to reserve a site when you’ve never been there. After reserving one that I thought would be ok when I arrived there were several much better options. I tried to change my reservation and they wouldn’t let me change without canceling the original one first. There would have been a $10 cancellation charge. I was dissatisfied with the first choice but next time I know which site to reserve. It’s hard for me because I travel by motorcycle and usually don’t know where I’ll be camping until late afternoon

Campground is wonderful, up in the mountains. Bathhouses are clean, well maintained. Close to Ellijay and the apple houses. Only complaint, the camp volunteer (site 15a) we first dealt with was rude, nasty and unwelcoming. Instead of helping with my issue, which was of my making, his response was to leave the Campground, make a reservation for that night and then come back. It is two and a half miles of winding mountain roads to get back to the highway and another six miles until there was a spot to turnaround and make reservations, instead of staying in the Campground and making the reservations. Fortunately, his wife was more helpful. But it is a beautiful Campground and the sites were mostly level. We will be back.

Beautiful clean campground, we were on site 26 with lots of privacy. Other sites are much closer so make sure to look at the map if privacy is wanted! Only downside is very steep embankment to the lake. My kids braved it and kayaked and our dog had no problem! But if you want lake access it’s difficult! Also, no TMobile cell service at all, we enjoyed that but others may not.
