We have been in and out this campground during September 2022 and it was perfect since day one. We did camp with a tent, they´ve got a beutiful spot for it right next to the lake. Campsite number 30 was our favourite, with a little beach. This campground has a great fishing pier that you can´t miss, no matter if you do fish or not. The campground was very clean, and both bathrooms were cleaned every single morning. I would like to thank you all park attendants who work here, they were super nice at every moment. I do recommend this campground a lot, it will not dissapoint you!

The tent area has a nice view of the lake but the sites are not private from each other at all. They are also VERY far from the bathroom, like you need to drive to the bathroom. And the bathroom never had soap the whole time.
The gate attendant asked me why the address on my ID is different from my billing address and made me explain it twice. I don’t think that’s anybody’s business and isn’t relevant for camping. They don’t even ask that stuff at the airport. You can look at my face and see it’s me and mind your business beyond that.
Would not go back here.

Several of us were in town to ride 6gap in Dahlonega which starts at 7:30. Unfortunately the gates are Bolding mill are locked until 7am which forced many of us to park our vehicles on the other side of the locked gate. This was a big inconvenience as we had to walk across the campground to the gate with little children, bikes etc in the dark to get to our vehicles so we could leave on time to make it to Dahlonega. We asked if they would be willing to open the gate 15-30min earlier but our request was denied. This seems like such a small request to accommodate at least 10 different campers that were there to ride 6gap.

Sad to see such a nice place in decline. Mismanagement, poor or
Lacking help, excuses and certainly campers with no regard or respect for the facilities or others appear to be root cause.
This park has become a dog park with inconsiderate pet owners; dog sh-t on the roads, the side of the roads, in the woods and pathways even in the shower (see pic).
The facilities post “no pets” and yes the signs have been tampered with but expect to see pet owners with their dogs in the bath rooms and showering their dogs in the facilities. Dogs barking on/off all day and night. Dogs off leash. If you call and notify the camp Hosts do not expect much help or reaction.
Expect to find human trash all around. The grass has not been cut but this could be on purpose (getting back to nature?) or just lack of management/personnel.
The inside dump station is closed and the outside dump station is backing up.
Cell service is adequate (T Mobile) and satellite service is sparse as expected due to foliage cover. Most sites are large and separated. The facilities; toilets, showers and laundry is aging and not well maintained.
As you enter the park the two signs read “no alcohol“ and “no guns” they need to add “no pets and/or pet owners“ as well. As always the users of this park need to chip in to keep this place open and clean. Please get this beautiful place back in order!

We absolutely love camping here but the gate attendants have gone way too far. They talk to guest like they own the place.
