The site was roomy. The table was in good shape. Lantern poles were helpful. the other campers were quiet and respectful. The availability of restrooms, water pump and food lockers was a good thing.
I did not like the grill on the fire ring. It did not sit level and was not stable at all. That was the only negative.

I have visited Low Gap Creek Campground a few times in my life. I believe 2001 was my very first visit with my father, I was 12 at the time. We camped in site 6 and I have never forgotten the feeling of waking up to that fresh mountain air. I caught a blind trout with my bare hands. My father did not believe my claim initially, but could not deny the small brown trout I presented him.
I have now made two trips with my own family. My husband, two children (11yrs and 10yrs) and I camped on this trip. My children love the campground and requested to go tent camping for my son's 11th birthday (this was their second visit). We had a wonderful time. We hiked the Raven Cliff Falls Trail and visited Brasstown Bald. Helen is always a delight with all of the Christmas decorations and lights. We ate at Paul's Margarite Deck twice. I also recommend the GA Mountain Coaster.
The campground was clean and the toilet houses stocked. The sites had been cleared of leaf litter. The road was maintained and as good as one could expect, considering the recent storm damage from Helene. We camp with a 12x14 BigHorn tent and a wood stove. The site was plenty spacious even with a large tent. We are planning a 2025 spring trip and will probably tent camp again. I 10 out of 10 recommend this campground.
I love that I can reserve a site on the recreation.gov site. We travelled from middle GA and knowing that the site was reserved was a big relief.
