Whitetail Ridge campground is highly praised for its spacious, well-maintained sites and beautiful lake views. Always love camping here. Gate attendants this year were Super Friendly. Cell coverage was better this year than ever. I have Verizon service.

This is an amazing campground. The sites are spacious, the restrooms were clean (could use a little updating, but perfectly functional and clean). The park staff was super friendly and helpful and the location was nice if you needed to get to town, but secluded enough to be, well, camping. We could hear trains in the distance but it didn't really bother me because it's in the distance, not nearby. I would recommend this campground to anyone needing a place to camp in the area.

Absolutely love this campground. Only negative I would give has nothing to do with the campground itself, but more of a complaint about a fellow camper who dumped his smelly fish parts in the lake near our campsite. We endured a pleasurable smell of dead and rotting fish for the remainder of the day/night...

We really like Whitetail Ridge campground. We have stayed there 3 times in the past 4 years, in the same site (29). The host that greeted us at the gate on the afternoon of March 7 , was extremely welcoming and helpful. As we came back to the campground after the first session of the Azelea Storytelling Festival (the reason we were there), he was looking for those of us who had attended that event and making sure we were safely back. I felt very cared for and appreciate his attentiveness.
However, the following night, after the Festival we rushed back from LaGrange College and arrived at the gate at 9:58 only to find it locked. Thankfully, the other camp host was still there. He reluctantly opened the gate for us, but humphed at me when I thanked him. We felt very unwelcome.
These festivals are annual trips for us, and we look forward to hearing great stories and staying in great campgrounds. Whitetail Ridge is the only campground we have ever felt rushed to get to after a storytelling session, and we have never felt like an imposition to camp hosts at another campground.
