This was our base camp when we took the Blue Ridge Railroad trip this fall. The weather was perfect, the campsite (#5) was excellent, camp staff very friendly, campground was quiet (Sun - Wed), leaf colors nice, bathroom very clean and warm. What more could you want!

Wish a few more of the "primitive' sites would be upgraded to electric and water hookups. Seems that the most scenic sites are "primitive".

Beautiful campground. Bathrooms were incredible. Only two minor complaints 1. I would have liked a little better description of the sites so we can plan how to set up before getting there. 2. the light in the bathroom is on a timer which is great, but during the day it goes out in less than a min. and leaves you in the dark while showering.
Host were great and grounds were very nice and very clean.
Thank You
Stephen

Nice campground. #7 set up backward to most campers. Boat dock not good at all. . Hosts not familiar with lake or lake info. But overall, pretty quiet and clean

This is a quiet campground with average cell signal that improves before and after business hours. If you go in fall, be prepared for frequent acorn barrages, but the leaf colors are lovely. Excellent bathroom facilities up at the main entrance. We only had an issue with not knowing how/where to check in, but the camp attendant came to us at our space. Note that the road is hazardous past space #25 into the first come/first served area -- many potholes and narrow.

Campers are able to utilize the day use area for free, but if you have a vehicle parked in the day use parking lot then you have to pay the day use fee. You can be dropped off at the day use area and park at your campsite if you like. |
