Great campground, clean bathrooms, nice campsite managers. I’ll definitely be back.
Small tip. I would try to avoid a site next to the bathrooms as the led lights stay on all night and can be harsh. No problem while you’re sleeping in your tent and great for late night bathroom breaks. But does take a little away from the glow of the campfire. Not a big deal at all though! 5/5

We enjoyed our stay here. We had read reviews ahead of time on how unlevel campsite #10 was. Hoping that it had been leveled out sometime in the last year since those reviews. But we ended up using every leveling block and even cut up wood we brought to make it somewhat more level for our travel trailer. There was also standing water on our site and a wasp nest at the base of a rotting tree. Which we had to navigate around with our dogs. The campground and the people we met, couldn't be better. We will look around for another campsite when we return. When I got online to check other sites realized we would never get the opportunity for campsite #6 as someone who lives close by monopolizes that site. Not very fair to the rest of the people wanting the expierence of relaxing there for several days. I can say this as several other campers confirmed my suspicions.

Heaven on Earth! We stayed at site 11 which is a hike in site right on the lake. Beautiful camp ground with clean bathrooms. They have very friendly staff also.

Good access to the lake. Can launch a canoe or kayak from the campsite and not have to use the boat ramp.

Our favorite campsite in North Georgia! Second time camping at Morganton and we were at site F, a walk in site. First time we were at site C also a walk in site. We have already booked site 14 for the fall. So excited, can’t wait!

Very beautiful place to camp & lake is gorgeous...but if you are camping in spots A-F you need to have a cart of some kind to help bring your stuff in...if not...alot of walking back & forth to bring camping gear in...not easy if you have some heavy stuff like canopies & other supplies beautiful camping spots though & wouldn't hurt to bring a tarp to put under your tent in case of rain ...certain spots in that area collect alot of rain water and leaking into your tent ...other than that will be back to camp but better prepared...if we stay in those spots again

Here is what we liked/loved/enjoyed about Morganton Point Recreation Area Campground. 25 sites have 50/30 amp electric. Awesome, large swimming beach on Lake Blue Ridge with gorgeous mountain views. You can drive to beach and park in the large parking lot and pack a picnic lunch and eat at one of the many picnic tables. Rent paddle boards and/or kayaks. There is a trail from the campground to the beach if you decide to walk there. There are 43 campsites but some were too small for our 32 foot travel trailer. Some were uneven too. We were on Site 20 which was spacious and easy to back up into. There are several sites that can handle larger RV's. We had the chance to see the campground before camping there and circle the sites that we liked. Some sites have access to Lake Blue Ridge for swimming right from the campground. The proximity of this campground to popular Blue Ridge and many other popular mountain cities such as Blairsville, Young Harris, Hiawassee and not too far from Murphy and Hayesville, NC and it is in the tri-state area, coupled with the very affordable price (for electric and water was $31 and only $19 for Seniors) Morganton Point has had the same onsite manager for 6 years plus 2 camp hosts. The comfort station was clean and well-maintained. Good dump station. We look forward to camping at Morganton Point in the future.

Campers are able to utilize the day use area for free, but if you have a vehicle parked in the day use parking lot then you have to pay the day use fee. You can be dropped off at the day use area and park at your campsite if you like. |
