The interface is a bit clunky. It should only gray out the nights reserved and not the checkout day. There is a reason that motels do it that way.

The reservation system works pretty well overall, but it isn’t the best. There is a glitch that can be confusing. I talked to several other campers that experienced the same situation. When you book for say two nights the calendar on the site shows three days booked. The last being the checkout day. The biggest problem however is the prevalence of no shows. The site showed the island was almost completely booked for our stay, but the campground was only about half full. Campers should be allowed to occupy a vacant spot after 4:00 pm. And if a party selects say, one week then doesn’t show for the first three days they should lose their reservation unless they modify it. This would allow others to take the spot. Overall though , the site works pretty well.

amazing trip. the island ferry was right on schedule, the rangers were helpful, and our stay was perfect. Yankee Paradise and Stafford Beach were both great spots for backpack camping. YP was a few hours of hiking, more off the beaten path, and about 1mi to the Plum Orchard mansion (non-sulfury potable water as opposed to the well water). heads up- the well between YP and Hickory Hill is further than the sign says- it is more than .5 miles. we had no issues with wildlife in our camp while we were staying here.

Stafford Beach was one of the most idyllic spots I've ever pitched a tent! relatively easy access to the beach, too. single stall bathroom with a sink and a shower (all cold water) and a kitchen sink for washing pots, etc. the bear boxes were nice and we did not have any issues with animals in our camp here either.

A beautiful location. I love the campsites. The addition of the Bear boxes has definately been a good investment.

The island was great, the website was a little hard to navigate. The price of the ferry tickets has rose to level that will deter visitors from returning multiple times each year. Why would you have to purchase a pass to the island and a pas back to mainland. Sees as if one pass on the island would bring you back since its the only option to return.

One of the most beautiful campsites I've ever stayed at! Large private sites and you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. It was the coldest weekend in 2 decades, but I would not recommend this in the summer!

The park was closed due to weather so didn’t get to go to the island. I understand the need to close but didn’t receive notice until 4:30 the day before. 15 people traveled from Knoxville TN to the park with no notice of park being closed. A lot of wasted time, vacation time and money due to late notification for many people.

I didn't think that our visit to Cumberland Island could get better, but it did! We'd previously stayed at Sea Camp Campground #9. It was a lovely spot and we very much enjoyed our stay. Obviously, the island was just as lovely at #12 as compared to #9, and they are very close together, being in the same campground. However, #9 is not only closer to the bathhouse... but also has it's own small trail connecting the campsite to the bathhouse. Additionally, my son preferred the fire pit / grill ring for this site better than the one at the #9 site as well. We'd take any site at Sea Camp... but will be on special lookout for the availability of this site in the future!

Beautiful, serene and peaceful. Where else can you go and on a Thursday afternoon not see another person on the beach. I can't wait to go back.
