R. Shaefer Heard campground offers well-maintained, spacious sites with beautiful lake views, ample privacy, and friendly staff, making it a favorite for many visitors. The location is convenient, with easy access to shopping and activities, and the facilities are generally clean. The camping trip was a wonderful family experience! The site itself was clean, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for our family vacation. The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire time, making for perfect days of exploring, relaxing, and quality time together. We did note that the lake was down significantly, which slightly impacted water activities, but honestly, the gorgeous surroundings and great atmosphere more than made up for it. We managed to have an incredible time and are already looking forward to our return visit! Highly recommended for a fantastic, relaxing getaway.

I always enjoy the lake and the park is clean with many large, private campsites. Facilities are basic but generally well maintained.

Even if it is a very popular campground, it's still our favorite place to relax, and unwind. The sites are always clean, not too close to one another, and the view of the lake from almost all sites is magnificent. Yes, we have to reserve ahead of time, as they're full most weekends. Only one thing they could improve, put more dumpsters, or a trash collection service.

The park is very clean and organized, although there were quite a few long legged spiders in the bath house! When camping, nature is inevitable!! The camp host were helpful when we asked to relocate to another site (the picnic table and fire ring were on the opposite side of our camper door), and made the transition very easy. Although the lake was drained as a seasonal operation, we enjoyed finding things in the sand, and seeing what sort of paw prints were made during the night.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay with our family in site 50 (double site). The camp site was very clean and ready upon arrival. The camp hosts were exceptional - very friendly and helpful. We will return!!!! Wi-Fi is pretty poor, but we did manage to find the perfect spot (a 3’x3’ spot in the center of the site!) to watch the GT and GA games!
