What Guests Are Saying
Grayback Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful views, clean facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for campers and hikers. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, proximity to Idaho City, and well-maintained restrooms. However, some concerns were raised about the water quality and the lack of camp hosts, and tent accommodations could be improved.

Beautiful campground close to the Highway and Idaho City. Up a steep hill, so you couldn’t hear the highway. Great place

Beautiful campground, but toilets had no TP, were very filthy, and some had broken door locks. Dumpster was overflowing. Very disappointing. We visited on 8/1/2021.

The creek was great. Lots of shade. Water pump available to rinse feet or shoes off or to wash dishes. I don't think it's drinkable. Hiking trail.

Bathroom was very clean and odor free. Water out of pumps was yellow and of questionable potability. We ended up buying bottled water instead.

Hi. I wasn't able to use the two camp sites so I gave them to my daughters and their families. They thoroughly enjoyed the time there. The restrooms were clean and the sites were in great shape. Very positive experience for them. They were tent camping.

A nice little spot to get away from town. The site we were at had lots of gofer holes, or are they ground squirrels, we were in tents so we noticed the holes and lumps ! (Huge ants, mosquitoes too) peaceful at night, everyone went to be bed at dusk. Kids liked the loop. The bathrooms and trash could use more attention . No host on site.

Our site was beautiful, pine trees and plenty of shade for the 100+ degree weather. There were good hiking trails and after our 3.5 hour hike the creek was nice to cool off in. It was very peaceful and quiet, we will definitely be back.

Sites were very well kept. Bathrooms did not smell which was surprising for vault toilets. We fit our 35 ft motorhome in site 1 without difficulty.
