There's very little privacy at this site due to the trail passing right through the camping area, and since there is no vault toilet, you need to set up tarps strategically to make sure that no one's staring at you while you use the toilet bucket. The campsite at shady also looks to the west which involves quite a bit of light pollution from the houses on the western shore of the lake. Additionally, the lake is fraught with jet skiers and motor boat recreationists which produces quite a bit of noise and wakes along the beach. Some came so close to shore that we were afraid to swim out into the water because we didn't want our kids to be hit by the boats. Overall we had a pleasant time, but we had to overlook a number of frustrations which we typically go to the woods to avoid.

We are very sad to see that thw island was switched to reservations. It makes it very hard to camp out with bigger group for longer period of time, like a week at a time, because most of spots are reserved for the weekend only, so we saw a lot of empty spots that no one can occupy do to the spot being reserved for 3 out of 7 nights. There's a booking fee, can't modify my stay online at all, only add days, cant get hold of costumer service, waited for over an hour and the recording kept on saying, " your wait time is 25 min" every five min with oit changing the wait time. There was no one avaliable to help us once we got there. Our potty site didnt have toilet paper few times, had to use paper towels. Not happy with the new changes :(
