The campground is beautiful and the spots are far enough apart that you don’t feel like you are on top of your neighbor. The bathrooms and shower houses are clean and well kept.

Awesome camp ground, but old outdated concrete picnic tables need to go. Truly hard for seniors and anyone with any leg issues to get into them. Grounds are clean, hosts are awesome, great place to view the eclipse.

Very quiet. The spacing was perfect for our campsite. We have three dogs and they had plenty of space to run around without disturbing others that were around us

Sites were very unlevel, I had to request a move. Rangers were a great help. Had a ton of information to help with the enjoyment of the trip. Stupid rules that e-bikes are OK, but E-scooters are not is not thought out, since E-scooters are so much easier for RVing older people. I probably will never return.

My site was right on lake. Great view. Many birds to watch. Campsites are good sized. I had full hook up. Everything was working perfectly. I came for the eclipse, it was awesome!!!

We love the site. However, when we arrived, we found out that the loop we were on didn’t have water. When we checked in, no one told us. We were expecting full hookup and hadn’t carried any water. Luckily, we were able to fill at the dump station before we setup. We understand how problems happen, we were just upset that we weren’t notified so we could plan accordingly. The problem was soon fixed, and the rest of our stay was wonderful.

Nice site with plenty of room for tents. Also extremely close the bathroom/shower which was awesome. Hot water was a plus.

Visited S. Marcum for 2nd time, but this time for the Great 2024 Eclipse. Shower house/toilets were great. Plenty of room between campsites. Friendly staff. Great paved bike/walking trail for 10+ miles through campground, below the dam, and into the next campground. Easy access to lake for boating/canoing. One downside: I-57 road noise. Overall rating still excellent.
