South Marcum Campground

Nice level parking and convenient hookups.

Site #137 was lovely. Even though it's right next to the basketball court, I didn't have a problem the entire 14 nights. A small herd of deer fed on the grass around the court in the mornings and evenings; I was able to get plenty of pictures. Three woodpeckers live behind the site, and the butterflies were friendly. The site is level, shaded, no problems with full hookups, and close to the bathroom/showers/dumpsters/bike trail. I couldn't get around the entire site with the wheelchair, because the lawn service chews up the ground so badly, but I didn't have any major issues. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely setting - our campsite was level, partially shaded and had full-hookup. Unfortunately the weather was so hot that we didn't get to enjoy some of the lovely hiking trails & waterfront areas.

Very clean and quiet

We were on lot 56 right next to the lake so it was a beautiful spot to sit and watch the water- it does have shade but we are a small class A so just word of advice during the heat u might want to try a diff spot as the afternoon and evening sun is heating up your front end but other than that I really loved the spot - can’t wait to come back after Labor Day weekend is over ha!

This was our second stay at South Marcum and like the first it was excellent! We are so impressed with your park. Everything was first rate from the volunteer host to the campsites to the facility at large.

The sites are spread out and spacious. We had a nice view of the water and plenty of shade, but it wasn’t very level. The concrete patio section was very sloped and cracked making it a little tricky to get to the dirt area where the picnic table and fire pit were located.
We enjoyed the bike trail and walking throughout the park.
We will definitely return when in the area.

One of our favorite getaway places. Clean and well maintained. Restrooms also clean. Love the bike paths and views of the lake. Rented a pontoon and had a blast.

We had a wonderful time camping this year. The boys, and their 2 friends, loved swimming in Rend Lake, visiting the Dam, playing at the playground, roasting marshmallows, riding the bike trail and we did spend a rainy day at the movie theater in Carbondale. We always have a great time making memories with family!!

We gave stayed at South Marcum previously. This is our favorite campground at Rend Lake. Site 60 full hookup plenty long for our 38' fifth wheel and parking. Very spacious site. Lots of walking or bike trails. Highly reccomend!! Our Tmobile was a little sketchy but did work somewhat. Very clean, plenty of dumpsters.
