Beautiful campsite #22, one of the best in the campground. We camp here often and this was our first time in this loop. When we spend a few days or more we love having a full hook-up site. This site was FHU and very large and private. Altogether a wonderful experience. However there were some severely sloped drives on this loop, so be careful when booking.

We had a great site for watching the eclipse. We love the open area to back into sites and the large spaces between campsites. The campground is convenient to nearby stores and restaurants as well as a really nice winery.

I thought the camp grounds were beautiful and clean mowing was excellent and the gate attendant was very friendly and gave information to the site.

Had a great time in a tent site at South Marcum. Sites are big and relatively private. Love the lack of development around the lake, but I did hear interstate traffic all night.
Bathrooms have hot water and were cleaned every morning. I really wish they had a cleaning station for cooking, but we made do.
Oh and there are raccoons - keep the food in bins or in the car.
All in all I would definitely go back- it’s a beautiful place.

Getting There
From I-57 take exit 71 and turn west onto Highway 14. After 3 mi turn right on Rend City Road, then right on Rend Lake Dam Rd. Continue 3 mi to the park entrance on the left.
Highway access
South Marcum Campground is accessible from I-57 via exit 71, then west on Highway 14. The campground is located approximately 3 miles from the highway exit.
Policies & Rules
General
- All campers MUST register/ check-in with gate attendant upon arrival to receive site and vehicle tags.
- Camping equipment is required to be placed on the campsite; one camper with a maximum of three tents OR a maximum of four tents per site are permitted. Sites may NOT be reserved for parking of vehicles.
