What Guests Are Saying
Coon Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with clean facilities, well-maintained campgrounds, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the picturesque views of Lake Shelbyville and the quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite for families and nature lovers. However, some concerns were raised about the lack of fish cleaning stations, narrow parking spaces, and the need for improved arrival hours for campers without reservations.

This site is wonderful for people with kids to entertain! Basketball, volleyball, bike ramp and park is located directly across from it.

The campground is nice and it is clean. The site we had should not have been a site leg A site 16 it was so far out of level we couldn't get our camper close to level. It felt like when the park was redone there was no thought put into leveling sites, just lay down new asphalt and we're good. Also there were premium sites empty all weekend there should be a policy of you do not show up by a certain time or make arrangements the site becomes available.

This is my favorite campground. The kids love going to the beach and the playground. The basketball court is nice. The private shower houses are clean and well maintained. The water stays on continuously and the water stayed hot and never ran out. I also love the store that's available with just about anything you need! The sites are plenty spacious for our 32 ft pull behind camper. There are plenty of sites for tent camping as well along with extra parking areas for any extra guests. There's buddy sites available too. The fire pits and picnic tables at each site are nice. And i must add that there are many different types of sites as well. So if you want to be in the sun, shade, wooded, grass areas, gravel, or black top, there's options available. I recommend booking early if you want a full hookup site. Our family loves riding around the campground on our electric scooter to see all the other campers as there are many different forks in the roads that branch off to the different sections of the campground. They have the boat launch area that has many parking spaces if you have a boat. And if you are into fishing, there are areas for you to fish as well. I love the new dump station area as it is super easy and fast to get things cleaned up and the water pressure to clean things out is amazing! The gate attendant is super nice and friendly so check in was a breeze!! There's something for everyone here. We drive from over an hour away to camp here and I have yet to be disappointed in our stay here! Highly recommend!

Loved the campsite! The reason I rated only 3 stars is the bathrooms. We went to shower, and I opened the door to pitch blackness! There are motion sensors, but my husband had to walk more than halfway in to get them to turn on. It's very unsafe, especially for women, and I was very disheartened by the whole experience. I highly suggest this be changed, or someone could get hurt or worse.
