What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

While concrete is nice the design of the pad had to be done by a non camper. First the pad width was cut down by probably 4 feet so if you have a side door to the front of your trailer ,exiting is very carefull due to lack of a solid spot to step. Second there is no room for a picnic table and chairs on the concrete pad , and it is one or the other. Third who ever decided to put a fire pit in a hole was not too smart , you have to put your foot in the space that is left around the fire ring , a definite trip / accident hazard . Fill in the fire pit hole with gravel and put the ring on top. Add gravel so you can move the picnic table to have more room , this site used to be a favorite one , not no more. New and improved , not!

Nice place, quiet and sites are pretty big. I wanted to fish but can't even get line in the water! NOTHING BUT LILYPADS.

Sites are small. Lots of traffic and the mosquitoes are vicious

Didn’t get to camp there due to campground closure because of rising Mississippi water levels. Thomson Causeway notified us 1 day before we were to arrive. They were very apologetic about the closure and refunded our camping fees.

Nice quiet campground. Bathrooms were ok, they do the job. We drove with the bikes to the nearby village Thomson. The ride was fun and we felt secure on the way. Our side #4 was pretty leveled.
