The campground was clean and very welcoming. The sites were nice and spacious. The bathrooms and showers were good. They can’t post was very friendly. There are convenience stores close by we visited the Chellberg Farm,Mount Baldy, Lakeview Beach, and the nature center along with the welcome center. We would recommend them all. We also did a guided hike to the top of Mount Baldy, which we would recommend.
Make sure you bring mosquito spray!

The campground is cut into the woods so you have good privacy, but really no view of anything. Heavy underbrush throughout except on your pad. When it’s warm out, there’s not a lot of wind and mosquitoes are a problem. Otherwise, nice and quiet with acceptable facilities.

Nice campground. We stayed on a tent only walk up site which was really nice to be surrounded by trees. The site we got was still really close to the bathhouse. I appreciated that they had a water bottle filler at the bathhouse and a sink if need to rinse anything off. Would come back to stay again!

Dunewood and Indiana Dunes was a great stop on a longer road trip. The sites were well spaced for privacyand the shower house was clean and convienient.

The campgrounds were generally pretty quiet although barking dogs were a problem at times. The sites were large with decent privacy. The mosquitoes were a significant problem (late Aug) and made hanging out at the campsite unenjoyable. But, the beaches at the park were amazing so just hung out there instead. The bathrooms were clean with flush toilets which was a nice perk for such an affordable nightly rate. Showers were also a nice perk but too musky and moldy for my liking. Overall a good campground for the price in a nice park with great hiking trails, biking trails, and beaches.

This is my fav campground. The camp host kept the bathrooms immaculate during my stay, it's a very quiet campground with fairly private sites. Close to the railroad station so good/bad with that: you can take the train into Chicago for the day which is super convenient/fun, unfortunately you will hear that train at night. Very close to the beach. Lots of mosquitoes so prepare accordingly.

Terrific campground. Clean restrooms but they need a little refreshment. Restrooms have little changed since campground opened. Showers need help.

Dunewood Campground is accessible via I-94, with exit 26B leading to IN-49 North. IN-49 North connects to US-12 E (W Dunes Hwy), which provides direct access to the campground.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- All visitors must have a valid entrance pass, which can be purchased on arrival or in advance.
Site capacity
- Each campsite can accommodate up to 8 people.
- Guests can stay for a maximum of 14 days within any 30-day period.
Site types & loops
- Tents and equipment must be placed on the designated camping pad.
Vehicles & parking
- Vehicles must be parked on the paved area of the campsite.
- Park in the Lake View parking lot, not in the Town of Beverly Shores' beach parking lot to avoid tickets.
Safety & rules
- Observe daily quiet hours to respect other guests.
- Keep valuables out of sight in your vehicle to prevent theft.
Pets
- Pets must be on a leash (up to 6 feet) or caged and attended at all times.
Fires & fuel
- Campfires are restricted to fire rings, and you must provide your own firewood.
