I made my initial reservation online, which was easy.
Upon check in at the Indiana Dunes I met with the ranger at the gate ( forgot her name ) but she was very informative and helpful.
I would have liked to have said goodbye at checkout but I left too early.
Thanks again for all you do.
Best,
Harry and Jean Brock

Great spot! Not too close to other campsites and easy to park and walk to the site and the bathrooms. Quiet at night, good fire pit, decently clean bathrooms. Close to the beach and easy to get from place to place.

Reception at Dunewood was a 10+, very professional. Stayed in site 41 Sept 25. Very shaded so I charged Solar batteries the day before to max. Stayed 3 days. Parked a 24 β trailer easily. Space was groomed, very spacious and near showers. Shower and bathroom were always clean. Have water tank full before entering park. Water available but no hose connection. Must fill container. Dump was very well designed and easy to use. Non potable water at dump. Senior discount honored on advance Internet reservation.
Second time to park. Visitors center and quantity of activities close to nature is a 10!
Did Parks on The Air ( POTA) with ham radio from NP and State Park with Ham Radio in my truck with no problem.
Indiana Dunes is a unique gem in the NP system .

Very clean and quiet campground. There is some road noise which is inherent from the park location near civilization but the camping experience was still very nice. Fully in the trees, nice tent pads, table and fire pit, showers and running water with filtered bottler fillers. Well taken care of and close access to the spectacular dunes. There is even some hiking trail that leads from the campground. As long as you approach this park as a place to see a unique and special ecosystem and not a middle of nowhere experience, you won't be disappointing.

To expensive and park rangers are a pain to deal with would not recommend for 2 days of me an my wife it was 75 dollars 50 for the camping itself and 25 for park and you get no electricity at the site

#40 pull thru spot but could park to block most passing traffic. Campground was totally full with traffic noise from highway constant and an occasional train whistle. It was a good location for checking out the dunes. Be prepared for lots of sand in your camp gear! The outer rim of the campground will give you some wooded area to enjoy.

This campground has nice large sites, so your are spread out a bit more than usual. Flush toilets and showers are well maintained. Dump station and fresh drinking water are available on just inside the campground. There is quite a bit of road noise from Rt20 and the railroad, so don't expect a serene wilderness experience. Campground in general is well maintained and camp host does an excellent job keeping the place nice.
