Only regret was that we only were staying one night and a short night at that. Would have liked to explore the area more.
The campsite was had a little trash from the previous camper in the fire pit (reason for 4 stars) but other than that it was a good site and very nice park. The tank dump and fresh water fill was very convenient. The site we had was surrounding by trees and very peaceful. W
Next time we are in the area, we will plan to spend more time and bring the kayaks!

I stayed at West Overlook while my son was at a wrestling camp. The bathrooms were always clean and I had absolutely no issues. The only struggle was the amount of smoke from the Canadian Wildfires, but that was completely out of the park's control. I would definitely stay again. Lots of wildlife. I even saw a little mink!

Clean, spacious site. Clean but a little run down and old showerhouse. Limited amount of sites with water hookups. Beach is nice and denovian Fossil attraction was interesting. Not sure I'd stay at this particular place again but we love Coralville lake and camping around there!

This campground is lovely and I would have enjoyed spending more than two nights here! My only concern is that the campground hosts/rangers never asked the campers next to us to reduce the incredibly loud volume of their music (which was so loud that it was actually causing their speakers to have serious distortion). I actually don't mind hearing other campers' music most of the time (it's fun to hear new and different music ) -- but it was SO loud that we could barely have a conversation INSIDE our own camper.

Was next to under age drinkers that were wasted not following any rules about pets, noise or having any respect. Sheriff came and had them pour beer out but continued to drink after they left. Moved to new spot and had to pay and lost money just so I could have one night of peaceful camping.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
