What Guests Are Saying
Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

Where is the night security? At a camp site not far from us, were 5 young men. They had 5 tents and played music very loud past midnight. I thought the number of units on a given site was 2. And I thought quiet time started at 10 pm. This was very disappointing and sent our rating down from usual excellence.

As always, the restroom facilities were always clean. We were welcomed at our campsite and had our pass verified. There was several days of rain and strong winds and the crew there were constantly working on clean up. Hauling tree branches and debris off roads and bike path. We enjoy the large shady sites. The tv stations on antenna are sparse and internet coverage is minimal at best. We don't subscribe to any internet service other than Verizon. Phone calls worked, text messages were hit and miss. We will be back as the positives are enjoying the outside. We enjoy the well maintained bike path as well.

We enjoyed our visit. The sites are nicely maintained and spacious. There are a lot of trees for shade and grass. Nice walking and biking trails too. Hope to visit again.

Howell station is my favorite Red Rock area campground. SO much to do & close to Pella - flat camp spots & lots of trees. Would be my all time favorite campground if the cell phone reception was better. Too bad the Corps can't get a cell tower built up on the hill by the visitor center.

It's always good at Howell Station. The space, the views, the quietness. The hosts/volunteers are always friendly and helpful. My only wish is that we had better cell phone service. It's hard to keep an eye/ear on the weather. We have US Cellular and there is no service below the dam. I need to look into a booster or something.

Very nice campground. Clean. Lots of people out & about walking and biking. We went into town to visit the Pella Aquatic Center which was very nice. Pella is a great place to visit.
