Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

Excellent campground. We are bike riders and as soon as the hydroelectric dam project is finished and they open up the rest of the bike path it will be awesome. You will then be able to ride all the way to the overlook tower. We can hardly wait. This campground has become our favorite.

We have nothing but good to say about Howell Station. We have taken road trips to check out other camping areas in the state, and agree that Howell is tops!

Our camping sight was clean, grass was mowed up nice and had great weather for the weekend. Went on a few walks and road bikes.

Excellent playgrounds. Short walk to the water for eagle watching. Short walk to the paved walking/biking trails and/or hiking trails. We had a shaded lot near the shower house. Overall great experience to get away for a bit.

Quiet campground with LARGE sites. Only issue was they were working on the dam and caused some noises during the weekdays we were there. They have a nice bike trail that goes into Pella, total about 14 miles. Huge shade trees on most of the sites. We will definitely come to this one again. Don't count on access to social media, which if you are aware, is not a big issue, but it was a surprise to us to have no coverage. Phone calls mostly worked, but texts and internet were pretty much non existant.
