Mound Valley offers clean and well-maintained campsites with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a popular destination for campers. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp hosts and the excellent swimming beach, as well as the spacious, shaded sites. The park is clean. The hosts were respectful of COVID protocol.
The trash dumpsters were needing service. Not sure when the company contracted to do the service arrives. However, not during our visit.

Your staff was of great assistance when I failed to reserve an extra day. They gave me your card to call and get reservation for an extra day. Do to very bad cell phone service. I went to a neighbor camper and used there phone to make an extra day reservation. Thanks for making a bad mistake on my part an easy one to fix.

I love that we are camping under a canopy of trees! Oh we try to pick spots that we can also see the water. I love the amount of space each site has.

The campground was wonderful! The water was nice and refreshing and so close to the campsite. The major problem was the Park Ranger named BARB, she was not pleasant in anyway! She thinks shes a super cop and was telling us we couldnt even ride our electric bicycle to the bathrooms🙄 Shes always bothering us and many others when we try to enjoy ourselves camping at Big Hill. We might start looking at a different campground/lake/or state to camp in. Its too bad because it really is a beautiful place in southeast Kansas.

We didn't find out that we couldn't swim or boat until after I had made reservations.. paid for 3 days and didn't even stay, but couldn't get a refund.. I do love this place and have camped here many times.. but this experience wasn't a good one..

The campground was a beautiful oak forest. Campsites and facilities were well maintained. We were there during a particularly hot spell, hoping to get in the water at the beach and do some canoeing. The beach was closed due to blue green algae, which didn't sound good for canoeing either. Though the lake is small it seemed to be dominated by extremely loud speed boats, making it impossible to hear conversation in camp. We stayed one night of the two we had reserved and decided to move on.

It was a beautiful, peaceful site. The grounds are well kept and easy to navigate.
