What Guests Are Saying
Maple Springs Campground offers a peaceful, spacious, and secluded experience with great hiking trails nearby. The campground is clean and well-maintained, but lacks showers and dump stations, which may be inconvenient for some visitors. While access to the main park area via ferry can be limited, the overall tranquility and beauty of the site make it a worthwhile destination for nature lovers.

We were the only ones camping in the campground. It was heavenly. The only downside was the ferry was not working so it took us 30 minutes to drive around the the visitors center.

Green River ferry was not working. Our GPS almost got us there before we saw signs. We drove 40 minutes to Mammoth Cave area to get information. There we learned that the campground was a 45 minute drive back on the other side of the ferry. That would mean an additional 1.5 hour drive to get there and unhook our trailer and then return for the Cave tour.
Fortunately, a gate ranger canceled our Miller reservation and found us a non electric site near the Cave.

We camp in the equestrian site. Love the close access to the trailhead. Sites are clean and well maintained.

We had a large camper and had to come in via the dam and got confused and went to mammoth cave horse camp thinking it was affiliated with maple spring cg
The road signs could be more clear. The mammoth Cave horse camp also uses the brown signs like the national park

When we could not ride the ferry because we were in a small RV, no one could tell us how to get around to the campground. No attendants at the gate and no information available at the "office". Took us over an hour to navigate to the Maple Springs campground, via our navigation system. Again, no one at the park when we did finally arrive at Maple Springs. Beautiful park, but a little spooky staying there by ourselves...no other camper in sight.

Clean bathrooms (as clean as you can get for outhouse style). Wish Campers could dump into their sewer holding tank. But the campsites are spaced nicely apart. Sites 1-5 are the best. No noise or light pollution. Trails onsite-well maintained. Saw 2 coyotes, 3 turkey, and several deer. Just make sure the green river ferry is open as we used it daily to travel to mammoth park. Will be back!!!

Beautiful spot with very few people around. Was a quiet and peaceful place.

Wonderful camping site just north of the river. Water and electric hookups make for comfort when further away from the campground. BIG sites provide privacy if wanted and few neighbors make for a quiet stay. Only draw back is that you have to drive the camper around the park to dump. Bring your travel tank to make life easier.
