What Guests Are Saying
Maple Springs offers a spacious and quiet camping experience with clean facilities and immediate access to well-maintained trails, making it highly recommended by visitors. While some negative aspects include broken amenities like the ferry and a lack of showers and dump stations, many guests appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness of the campground. Overall, it is considered a pleasant place to escape into nature, though improvements are needed for better access and amenities.

When we booked the campground, we were traveling and not familiar with the area at all. We knew there were not full hookups, but have never been to a campground before that didn't at least have shower houses if hookups were not available. There was also not a dump station to use unless we drove 50 minutes around the park to get to it, as you could not take campers on the ferry. In the heat and humidity of summer, it would have been nice to be able to take showers. At least we only spent 2 nights there. Lesson learned for sure.

Maple Springs has very large campsites, which is a nice bonus. But what they don't tell you is that campsite #4 is on a steep hill which means if you are in a tent there are not many places to put a tent easily. What was not pleasant about Maple Springs were the outhouses. There were 4 outhouses and each one was just as bad as the next one. They were so dirty that a person would be thinking that they were going to be getting a disease from using them. There was fecal matter all over the tube going down to the pit. The stench was so bad that while you were 20 yards away, on the road, you could smell it. The doors did not lock on two of them by the way that they designed the openings for the locks. And one of them had a snake in it. We were there for two days and no one came to clean or inspect the campground or the outhouses. Really they looked and smelled like they have not been cleaned in a very long time.

Nice quiet campground. Be aware that if the Green River is high the ferry closes to vehicles with trailers. Would recommend if you want an out of the way campground.
