What Guests Are Saying
Zilpo Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for many long-time visitors. While some amenities, such as hot water availability and maintenance support, have declined, most campers still enjoy the private, serene sites and the access to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. However, issues like noise from other campers and limited store supplies have been noted, highlighting areas for improvement.

The bathroom/showers are older but they were extremely clean. Campsite was great. Easy access to water, trash and bathroom.

We arrived to the park and we’re welcomed by the lady at the check in gate and we’re show how to get to our site and we had no problem with anything it was very shady and level it was great and we really enjoyed our time there just wish that we had more time to go back in the very near future. I give them five star for everything and friendly staff they were all very helpful.

Loves the mature growth trees in H loop, and throughout the whole campground. Our site and most others were well shaded. Clean bathouses. We enjoyed the beach very much, but bring water sock shoes as it's not sand, but more a lot of gravel. The camp hosts were all very pleasant as well. We will definitely be back to this campground.

The gate keeper and camp hosts are friendly. We stayed in a cabin and it had just what we needed. The bathrooms are clean. We boat all day then enjoy the quiet campground. This was our third visit and we will be back.

This park has incredible potential as it is a beautiful and serene area with nicely spaced sites, but it needs some serious TLC. The shrubs and grass are not cut back away from sites. As a result you have ticks attached to you every day and mice running about. There are low hanging branches that clip every RV and TT driving through the park loops. The beach was closed before 8pm without notice. The camp host, April, has 3 small dogs that are left in a kennel outside her TT that bark all day and all night. Additionally, while sitting outside by the campfire, it sounded like the owners further abused the dogs based on the sound of loud, striking thumps and painful shrieks from the dogs. The park is managed by Thousand Trails and we will not be back until improvements are made. Thus we cannot recommend it unless you like to pay to enjoy a primitive camping experience.
