What Guests Are Saying
Zilpo Campground offers beautiful, secluded sites with excellent access to the lake, making it a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The campground is well-maintained, with clean restrooms and friendly staff, although some services like water access and store items may be limited. While noise from other campers can be an issue, many visitors appreciate the serene environment and recommend Zilpo for its scenic beauty and enjoyable activities.

Zilpo is in dire need of repairs. They have 1 clean out that works for campers. One is clogged and has feces floating on top of the drain. I put a black garbage bag there 3 weeks ago for rubber gloves etc because there wasn't a garbage can. We just went back and that same garbage bag is hanging there. There are used gloves on the ground. It's gross. We pay to have our boat and camper stored and they don't even weed eat around them. My husband has to bring a weed eater and do it himself. There is garbage around by the lake and boat dock. There is water running out of several of the places to get water. It pours out the back of the pipe when you fill the camper with fresh water. I have pictures of everything I have commented on. We love camping at Zilpo and have for years and the disrepair breaks my heart. It seems management would oversee this better. You can barely get reservations so I know it's being used.
The staff are as nice as they can be but the place is a mess.

H-36 this spot was awesome. There were no campsites directly to the left or right, the only neighbor was across the road from us. It had plenty of shade. It had a nice path down to the lake so we were able to swim, fish, kayak, and hang out on the shore. The water pump was right next to the site. The bath house was just down the road.

We absolutely love Zilpo!! The only issue with the cabin is a twin size air mattress wont fit in the bunks. Other than that we love coming there year after year!!

Our family camped 2 nights in H loop spot 019. There is a fairly easy trail from the site that goes to the water. We fished, skipped rocks, and just enjoyed the view. Facilities were clean and accessible.

A very nice, quiet spot at the back of the loop. It was shaded, even in the middle of the day. Highly recommend!

We’ve stayed at Zilpo twice this summer and both times the campground beach was closed ,which was kind of a bummer, and also only one bath house on our loop was open. Our stays were over all pleasant. Cell coverage for AT&T was dicey. We will return.

This was our first time visiting the campground. We have a 37-ft travel trailer. Be advised the road to the campground has some sharp turns and windy. But we got through with no problem. The spot we reserved was not angled as much as I would have liked to easily park the trailer. But I managed to get into the spot I'm really no problems. The site itself I feel was one of the best we've been it had to gravel so there was no tracking mud or grass into our trailer. The beach was really nice had a little more rock than sand. we were advised that we could go to the boat dock and it had a small beach after the main one was closed due to late hours. We also found a certain campsites have direct access to beach like landings. We really enjoyed this trip and will definitely be back.
