What Guests Are Saying
Zilpo Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for many long-time visitors. While some amenities, such as hot water availability and maintenance support, have declined, most campers still enjoy the private, serene sites and the access to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. However, issues like noise from other campers and limited store supplies have been noted, highlighting areas for improvement.

My friends and I have been coming to Zilpo Campground for our annual trip for 11 years. This is the first year we have been treated poorly by the lady at the guard shack. This particular lady (I've failed to get her name) has been rude all summer. She's very disrespectful and hateful. She threatened to send away my guests when they arrived because there were too many people on the sites (I had 2 reservations) She stated 6 people per site was the maximum, at the time of her threat, there were only 6 people total (4 on 1 site, 2 on the other). Another issue I had upon arrival was the trash and debris left by the previous occupant. We picked up countless plastic straw wrappers, cigarette butts, beer bottle caps, and other plastic wrappers. I was very disappointed in this trip!!! **DO BETTER**

Zilpo is in dire need of repairs. They have 1 clean out that works for campers. One is clogged and has feces floating on top of the drain. I put a black garbage bag there 3 weeks ago for rubber gloves etc because there wasn't a garbage can. We just went back and that same garbage bag is hanging there. There are used gloves on the ground. It's gross. We pay to have our boat and camper stored and they don't even weed eat around them. My husband has to bring a weed eater and do it himself. There is garbage around by the lake and boat dock. There is water running out of several of the places to get water. It pours out the back of the pipe when you fill the camper with fresh water. I have pictures of everything I have commented on. We love camping at Zilpo and have for years and the disrepair breaks my heart. It seems management would oversee this better. You can barely get reservations so I know it's being used.
The staff are as nice as they can be but the place is a mess.
