The staff is very friendly and the bath house was as close to immaculate as they could make it. Zilpo’s a little out of the way, but worth the trip.

We are back again 10 days later. Zilpo location is exquisite on a peninsula jutting out into Cave Run Lake. The entire campsite is immaculate and maintained with the love only outdoor people have. Each site is secuded and near the lake. The manager team of Tammy and Duane are delightful Warm, friendly and highly professional. Thank you both for making our experience so memorable. We will be returning to this slice of heaven on earth frequently.

My friends and I have been coming to Zilpo Campground for our annual trip for 11 years. This is the first year we have been treated poorly by the lady at the guard shack. This particular lady (I've failed to get her name) has been rude all summer. She's very disrespectful and hateful. She threatened to send away my guests when they arrived because there were too many people on the sites (I had 2 reservations) She stated 6 people per site was the maximum, at the time of her threat, there were only 6 people total (4 on 1 site, 2 on the other). Another issue I had upon arrival was the trash and debris left by the previous occupant. We picked up countless plastic straw wrappers, cigarette butts, beer bottle caps, and other plastic wrappers. I was very disappointed in this trip!!! **DO BETTER**

Policies & Rules

General

  • Limit 6 people and 2 vehicles per single campsite; additional vehicles will be charged an additional fee per night; additional guest will be charged $2 per night.
  • Each cabin has 2 double bunk beds with out mattresses, Please bring your own sleeping bags or other bedding.Each cabin can accommodate up to 6 people and 1 vehicle. Tents and RVs are not allowed at the cabins.
  • Beach is opened from Memorial day to Labor day, unless flooding occurs hours of operation are 11am to 8 pm
  • Only Authorized companies are allowed to drop off and set up rental trailers, all unauthorized RV trailer rental deliveries will be turned away.
  • Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
  • Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
  • A discount of 25% is now available for reservations that include 7 or more consecutive days.
