Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

An oasis in the metropolis. We camped in our RV in mid March for a week. No leaves on the trees, so we did have some sun for our solar. There are no hookups in loop D where we were. We have a bigger trailer 34 ft and fit ok. Many spots would have fit us fine. Bathrooms were big and warm. Shower was warm. Major damage from 2022 storm, so many trees down, it was quite obvious the park needs help cleaning or removing them. Lots of trees in the park, which is real nice! Very close to civilization. Metro is 10 minutes which is nice for visiting DC. There are park police and park rangers/camp hosts 24/7. No sketchy characters around. Sites are roomy and spread out. This place is inexpensive and so worth it.

Went last week on a weekday. Everything was great! Clean Restrooms, Warm Showers, Perhaps it is bet to come here when there is no one to ruin the ambiance.

From Greenbelt, we visited my son at Cherry Hill Campground, went to the Cherry Blossom Festival, saw Annapolis, the Luray caverns, and also 14 State Parks. We also visited the Jim Hensen memorial at Maryland University and saw Vanadu Art House, nearby Atlas Obscura attractions. Each night we had the comfort of our own trailer and a nice hot shin the campground. By staying here for only $10.00 per night (with Senior Discount), we could afford to stay longer and see more stuff!
