Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. This park was not prepared for winter weather. It is a quiet solitude away from the city and in the perfect location if you're planning on exploring DC but don't want to stay in the city. However, while we were there, the first snow storm to hit the DC area arrived and snowed us in. There was not even a snow shovel in sight, and it took longer to plow the roads than expected. The camp host was very nice, hopefully after this the rangers will prepare the park better for the winter. The bathrooms were clean and warm with hot showers.

The campground was nice and all the rangers were very friendly but we didn't have water all day because a main broke out in the road. Even after they were done with it on the road we still didn't have water so we decided we couldn't stay and left.
