What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

I had a great experience at Greenbelt NP.
It was my first time there and I really didn’t know the campgrounds. I was fortunate I was able to change my campsite to better accommodate my car camping vehicle.

Great, clean bathrooms with hot showers! Lots of trees and wildlife. The park was not crowded, as only about 25% of the tent sites were taken, giving lots of room in between sites. My only gripe would be that they bounced me from the campground after 14 days, and i wanted to stay for 15 days. So I spent the last day "camping" on the street like a homeless person! They should relax this and allow people to camp for at least one month. Why not? We love the place and there are so many empty places?

The site we picked was great but the fire pits are way too tall to be able to enjoy the campfire. A discussion with a ranger confirmed the tall requirements for forest fire safety. We enjoyed our quiet and convenient stay at the campground.
