Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. The site we picked was great but the fire pits are way too tall to be able to enjoy the campfire. A discussion with a ranger confirmed the tall requirements for forest fire safety. We enjoyed our quiet and convenient stay at the campground.

I'm a fan of camping and I like primitive camping. So for me it was great.

Disappointing park. There are many reviews that mention the ticks. Believe them! There are a ton of ticks here. Some forest management here seems to be very much needed -- but suspect that is problematic in a park that is hemmed in by civilization. Bathrooms are not in the best of shape -- one was dirty and the other was out of order. Not planning to return to camp.
