What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

Disappointing park. There are many reviews that mention the ticks. Believe them! There are a ton of ticks here. Some forest management here seems to be very much needed -- but suspect that is problematic in a park that is hemmed in by civilization. Bathrooms are not in the best of shape -- one was dirty and the other was out of order. Not planning to return to camp.

This is a very nice and spacious place to stay. The accommodations are great, clean, and very quiet. Great walking/biking trails all around. Only a 1.5-mile walk to the metro allows a quick trip into DC anytime you want. Weekends are only $2 to ride and parking is free. We went to the Arlington Cemetary and watched the changing of the guard on the weekend since it was the furthest away. During the week you pay so much for each hop so our stop to Arlington would have been about $5.55 during the week and parking at College Park would have been $4.95 for the day. If you are a senior (65up), go to the Greenbelt Library and get your free metro card because all rides are 50% off. This is a NPS park so 50% off the overnight fee with the senior park pass so we paid $10 a night.

It was a decent campground, our spot had plenty of space for our big tent. In mid-May lots of open spots in the tent only loop. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, but it was just toilets and sinks maybe, because floors/walls stayed pretty dirty/buggy. Outlets didn’t work in the bathrooms either which was disappointing. Showers had warm water. One of the men’s toilets in our loop was broke the entire of our 8 day visit. Still hard to complain too much at $20/day. We did the short drive to the metro parking - just on the weekend there was free parking and $2/ride was a great deal. Other days we drove into the city since we have a family of 6 and $5.90/ride was too much for us. Overall would stay again.

The Rangers are so friendly and the park is beautiful. We love going there and getting a get away. Campfire program was great.

I took a Scouts BSA troop and we had a great time. Went into Washington DC on Saturday using the Metro. It is very convenient to the park. We have used this campground many times in the past and will continue in the future when we go to Washington DC or Annapolis.
