The team at Platte River is outstanding. The campsite, shower and bathroom were spotless.
On a previous stay the 30 amp socket was surging. I mentioned it to a passing campground host and the post was repaired within an hour.

What a beautiful gem! We’ve been here several times and the campground never ceases to delight. It is so very well maintained. I almost want to leave a negative review so it might be easier to get a reservation (just kidding). Platte River Campground is my number one favorite.
And outside the campground there are so many great places to explore, Northport, Glen Arbor, Point Bettie, Leland, and the Dunes of course.

One of the best National Park campgrounds. Looks very new with all paved sites and large picnic table firepit areas. Sites are wooded with lots of separation between sites. Large clean bathrooms. A nice trail around the perimeter of campground which also leads to Lake Michigan in just 0.8 mile.

The campground was clean and well kept. Our site (123) was level and easy to get in and out of. We had a bit of extra pedestrian traffic since the path to the trail was next to our site. The closest restroom/shower was under renovation so we had to walk a ways to get to the shower but the shower was clean and hot. We had a good hike to the lakefront and back.

Love this campground. It’s quiet and I love all the things to do in close proximity of the campground.

We try to visit Platte River Campground for two weeks every Fall, but making reservations is a real hassle, and getting worse every year! Once we arrive everything is Good. This year we were on Lot 203 (a very nice lot) right next to the Hosts. Ron and Kim Carlisle are second generation Hosts and are fantastic people and neighbors.
