What Guests Are Saying
Black River Harbor Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with well-maintained sites and proximity to stunning waterfalls and Lake Superior. Many visitors appreciate the privacy between campsites and the cleanliness of the facilities, despite some concerns about limited water access and steep trails. Overall, it’s a great spot for outdoor activities and a relaxing getaway, though mobility issues and the lack of potable water may be drawbacks for some.

Great campsite. Private trail to Superior overlook and leads to the black river harbor. Many sites within a 15 min drive and short hike. Will be back!

Beautiful campground - amazing views of Lake Superior and the sunset. I believe campsite #18 was by far the best site with amazing views. Outhouse bathrooms were kept clean everyday. 15 minute walk down the trail to the beach and other hiking trails all within walking distance of the campsites.
We went for 4th of July weekend - heat wave came thru and was warmer than expected and the bugs were definitely an issue. Would love to come back Memorial Day weekend or Labor Day when the bugs aren’t as bad and temps are cooler.

Water was shut off, and harbor was closed. No easy way to get to the beach and deer flies were bad.

It would have been nice to know the water wasn't on before we got there

Enjoyed hikes to waterfalls and beach. Our favorite was Sandstone Falls because you can get close to it. Rock formations here are amazing. At the othe other falls you are herded like cattle to the overlook and then your view is restricted. We understand this is a safety consideration.
