What Guests Are Saying
Ausable River Camping offers a beautiful and serene environment, with spacious, well-maintained sites and picturesque views of the river. Campers appreciate the remote, rustic charm and the opportunities for fishing and hiking. While there are some concerns regarding ticks, road conditions, noise from generators, and occasional issues with campsite bookings, many visitors still express a strong desire to return for another experience in nature.

Great access to Cooke Pond. On my wish list for the Sawmill campground: pump that would provide access to clean drinking water. Would be willing to pay higher camping fee for this addition.

Make sure you get there before the local ranger station close. There was someone in our site refusing to leave. There is no after hours number to call if there is an issue. We called the reservation phone number but they were not able to help. We called every number we could find but there was no answer at any. We left messages but only one called back, four days later, and said they could not do anything and contact the local ranger station. The site was great but this really was frustrating.

This place is amazing. Firepit with grill cover and typically some stumps left around to sit on
