What Guests Are Saying
Ausable River Camping offers a beautiful and serene environment, with spacious, well-maintained sites and picturesque views of the river. Campers appreciate the remote, rustic charm and the opportunities for fishing and hiking. While there are some concerns regarding ticks, road conditions, noise from generators, and occasional issues with campsite bookings, many visitors still express a strong desire to return for another experience in nature.

We have been camping along the Au Sable Rive for many of years. It's just a gorgeous river and canoeing and boating are fun and very enjoyable. Although I don't have much luck, I know others that have caught big and delicious fish out of this river. My family and friends also love camping in this area along the beautiful river. Thank you for allowing camping, I hope we will always be able to camp in our favorite sites!!!

Everything was great! It is the best place I have camped in Northern MI. I didn’t know this kind of secluded camping was available without heading to the UP or further still.

Campsite was big enough. Access to water was great with the steps built. Beautiful view of water. Clean water. Great fishing. Have been getting the same site for 5 years. Love it.

Great way to escape into the wilderness. We stayed on a site directly on the water. I would highly recommend.

Do not miss out on canoeing! The river is easy to navigate, but do not forget to bring bug spray. The campsites were a little close together, but that's to be expected with car camping. I would also recommend driving around to the scenic outlooks, especially around sunset!

Had such a great time! Away from City Life, electronics and enjoying the river and all its sights. Will rent again and again. Been in different spaces, and 14 has to be out favorite. Nice fire pit and access in was easy.

Nice campsite. Have stayed here a couple times. Steps at River is a nice touch, but new fire ring sucks! Ring is way to deep. Almost fall in trying to light the fire, can't even see the flames or coals of the fire because it's so deep. Only way to see the fire is to put a cord of wood in the ring, and location of ring is in the wrong spot. Fire ring should be centered on the campsite, not down at the end in all the poison ivy😡
