What Guests Are Saying
Lake Michigan at St. Ignace offers a beautiful camping experience with stunning beach access and well-maintained facilities. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts and clean restrooms, along with spectacular sunset views. However, the proximity to a busy highway results in significant road noise, which can detract from the overall enjoyment, especially for tent campers.

Except for the bugs we enjoyed our time as usual! Nets over the heads a few days and the beach had dead midges all over it, but still love Lake Michigan!

Nice campground right on Lake Michigan. Noise from busy road is very apparent in camp throughout the night. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. I would only stay here again if I was in a site right on the water.

Beautiful, somewhat private campsite with beach access. Perfect place to see the stars on a clear night. Quiet, peaceful, and fun!

right on the lake. really nice large sites with good separation and a ton of trees. facilities were some of the best maintained i have seen. water pumps worked fine but the water was pretty yellow so we only used it for washing. biggest drawback is that it is right adjacent to a very busy and loud highway. you here semi trucks through the night going really fast.

Beautiful Lake Michigan beach adjacent to the campground. Traffic noise from US-2 was loud, so I would not want to stay several nights— great for a one-night stay.

Beautiful large campsites and a lovely beach. Only thing that could make it better would be flush toilets with a sink to wash our hands. Lots of places to eat nearby in St. Ignace and 2 places in Epoufette. St. Ignace has Fireworks every Saturday night as well as movies by the Bay on Sundays. Both are free and kid friendly. Lots of hiking biking and other outdoor recreational activities available. Have been camping here for 42 years. Now my children and grandchildren come here too. Just a lovely place.

Our spot was very safe, clean, and open with beach access via a private path way to the back of our camp site. I reserved same spot again for the fall.

Sites and facilities were clean and well cared for. Firewood was stocked for sale inside the campground which was very convenient. Camp host was fabulous. Location is right off of a great beach - we loved spending time here. Also nearby is Mackinac island.
There were only 2 cons for this place:
1. this campground is right next to a busy road so there is a lot of noise from that - especially when large semis pass by. I would recommend getting a site on the south side of the campground to be further from the road.
2. The fire pit sides were a solid 2 ft tall. I don’t know if it’s for fire safety or what, but I’ve never had a fire pit that tall. Made it hard to cook or even enjoy watching the fire because when you are sitting down, you can’t see it behind the walls.

This is our 2nd visit in as many years. This is a small and well located camp. If you are attracted to the lake and the beach front, be sure to get a site on the lake side of the campground road. If not, you still have certain areas for access. It really is a beautiful view. Great swimming. Nice sandy beach. Sit and watch the sunset. There are no hook ups or dumps. Fresh water is available and the toilets were clean. The camp hosts were very attentive. We laughed…there was a tiny residential can for recycling, then a dumpster next to it for trash. Of which most was recycling items! They could use 10 more of the recycling bins. Also, realized this visit that there is a good amount of traffic noise being so close to the road. Didn’t notice this our first visit, but this time backed up to the main road and was not on the lake side. We were just an overnight, but if you are tenting or staying a couple of days, be aware as you book.
