What Guests Are Saying
Monocle Lake offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, private sites and a lovely swimming lake, perfect for hiking and kayaking. Camp hosts receive high praise for their friendliness and cleanliness of facilities. However, some guests noted issues with site descriptions and the presence of generators despite restrictions, and suggested the addition of a dump station.

Great campground!!!!! Loved the location (15 minutes West of Sault Ste Marie and about 1 hour from Whitefish Point. The campground has different hosts every year and, the hosts this year, Larry and his wife, were AMAZING and some of the nicest people I have ever met. Coming around and asking if I needed help, Larry even helped me put up my tent and build a fire! The sites are nice and separated and the campground is super quiet. I barely saw a soul. It is rustic with just pit toilets, but, if you're fine with it, it's no big deal. Monocle Lake itself is beautiful and quiet as well. Overall, amazing stay! Loved it so much!

This is a really nice park and, while the restroom facilities are a little older than many in the southern part of the state, they were clean and well-kept. The ranger at the registration booth was very courteous and helpful. The bike trail that runs right beside the park was very handy and we enjoyed a pleasant ride. We were on our way to the UP and this was a great stopping point on the way.
