What Guests Are Saying
Monocle Lake offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, private sites and a lovely swimming lake, perfect for hiking and kayaking. Camp hosts receive high praise for their friendliness and cleanliness of facilities. However, some guests noted issues with site descriptions and the presence of generators despite restrictions, and suggested the addition of a dump station.

Good introduction for my kids to rustic camping. Well spaced campsites, but still visible to your neighbor. Campground was not crowded when we were there, mid-June. Well maintained vault toilets. Host was friendly and busy. Access to a beautiful lake, right across from our site #31, we canoed a breezy morning there and watched the sun set that evening.

This is a very nice , well maintained campground. The lake is small and swim able. You can use a powerboat but they weren't too much of a nuisance. The area is heavily forested so there is not to much sun. The main road along the Lake Superior shore is wide enough and lightly traveled enough that it would be good biking,
