About Monocle Lake

Monocle Lake Campground offers a a relaxing place to fish, swim and hike along the shores of scenic Monocle Lake just off Lake Superior. It is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the northeastern corner of the Hiawatha National Forest. The campground is centrally located among many recreational opportunities in the Sault Ste. Marie area, including the Whitefish Bay National Scenic Byway and Tahquamenon Falls.

Spacious campsite, beautiful lake views, and quiet environment. It was the perfect place to relax and just be for a little while! Camp hosts were pleasant and everyone was polite.

First time at this campground. Lots to do and see. Loved the hiking trail up to the overlook of two lakes and Superior freighter channel. Also found the Mission Hill Cemetery and Iroquois Point Lighthouse fascinating. Great trip!

We really like this campground.
Unfortunately, we had to cut it short due to bad weather coming in.
The bathrooms were clean.
We will be returning in July.
