I've been driving by the ranger station for 15 years without stopping by. I was delighted to find a very informative visitor center about the Superior National Forest. Plants and animals are displayed, which makes it a great educational experience for children and adults.

Great campground. The sites and bathrooms are very clean. Lots of space between sites an the sites are large. Only issue is that the bathrooms have limited shower and toilet capacity so plan accordingly. Also, cell service was good at site 18. Three bars, but down to two bars by the lake. We have Verizon.

We always enjoy our stay at Fall Lake Campground / State Park. The campsites are great and all facilities are clean and kept up to date. We hate to leave every year after our weeks time there.

Fall Lake is located in Northeast MN, 100 miles North of Duluth MN. From Duluth, MN, take Highway 53 north for 50 miles to Virginia, MN. Take Highway 169 northeast for 50 miles to Ely, Minnesota, travel an addition 6.5 miles to County Road 182 (Fall Lake Road). Travel north on County Road 182 for 2 miles.

- Reservations are held until the day after arrival; sites must be occupied by checkout time or will be forfeited.

- Visitors to the northern portion of Fall Lake must have a valid BWCAW permit.

- Each site allows one RV with a tow vehicle or one vehicle per tent site, with an option for one extra vehicle at an additional cost.
