The campground was well maintained. Bathrooms were clean. Never saw a ranger. The map on recreation.gov was very unclear. Though we were renting a regular site and it turned out to be a double site. Was not a convient site. Was disappointed that the lake was so far away.

Leech Lake is a great campground, well maintained and clean. I like that it's kind of remote, away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough if you want to take a trip to Walker or Grand Rapids.

We were at Leech Lake for 14 days. We had to change campsites twice to cover the time. First we were in 41 which was nice. We have a 42' 5th wheel, long bed crew cab truck and also had an extra car with us. We fit fine. The site requires backing up a significant incline but the area for the trailer was reasonably flat. We needed blocks under the landing gear to keep the legs from being significantly extended. This site was reasonable walking distance to the flush toilets, showers and laundry. We would stay in this site again.
Next we were in site 31. We really loved this one. Very long so vehicles fit great and not many sites around us. It is a much longer hike to the flush toilets/showers but there are vault toilets fairly close. They were clean and didn't notice any significant odor. This site would be our first choice to stay again.
Last we were in site 74. The site was fine but this loop of the campground is very family oriented with the big playground nearby. A lot more noise etc. If I had young kids then I would stay in this loop. We would not choose to be in this loop again unless just for a few nights till a space in the main area was available.
The camp host was great. Very accommodating. The only drawback to this campground is the electric only at the sites. While our ideal would be full hookups, just having water in addition to electric would have been nice. Since we had to change sites a few times it wasn't a big deal to use the dump station at those changes. The bathrooms were clean, as well as the laundry room. Overall the campground was very well kept. We also did some fishing but we'll have to come back in a few years when the fish we caught grow up.
We would definitely come back to this campground again. Great experience!
