We were at Leech Lake for 14 days. We had to change campsites twice to cover the time. First we were in 41 which was nice. We have a 42' 5th wheel, long bed crew cab truck and also had an extra car with us. We fit fine. The site requires backing up a significant incline but the area for the trailer was reasonably flat. We needed blocks under the landing gear to keep the legs from being significantly extended. This site was reasonable walking distance to the flush toilets, showers and laundry. We would stay in this site again.

Next we were in site 31. We really loved this one. Very long so vehicles fit great and not many sites around us. It is a much longer hike to the flush toilets/showers but there are vault toilets fairly close. They were clean and didn't notice any significant odor. This site would be our first choice to stay again.

Last we were in site 74. The site was fine but this loop of the campground is very family oriented with the big playground nearby. A lot more noise etc. If I had young kids then I would stay in this loop. We would not choose to be in this loop again unless just for a few nights till a space in the main area was available.

The camp host was great. Very accommodating. The only drawback to this campground is the electric only at the sites. While our ideal would be full hookups, just having water in addition to electric would have been nice. Since we had to change sites a few times it wasn't a big deal to use the dump station at those changes. The bathrooms were clean, as well as the laundry room. Overall the campground was very well kept. We also did some fishing but we'll have to come back in a few years when the fish we caught grow up.

We would definitely come back to this campground again. Great experience!

We reserved site #8 for a 2 week stay after verifying that our RV would fit into the space. We couldn’t have been more wrong. The site is listed as accommodating vehicles up to 68 feet in length. We have a 35 ft. 5th Wheel and full size Ram 3500. We pulled in found our site and after 90 minutes of frustrating vehicle maneuvering that included everyone in the other sites - we gave up and had to go back to the ranger station and request a new site. Which they only had for 4 days. (And while we were there requesting a new site, 2 Class A’s were doing the same thing because of the same problem.
They couldn’t back into their sites either.). We did get into a site - not easy - and tried to figure out if there were other sites we could have picked. The answer is yes and no. This particular campground has trees everywhere which is great, except they are also at the entrance to almost every single site on both sides. Making matters worse is the roads are really skinny and hard to turn whether it’s backing in or just going around a curve. The ranger told us they have a proposal in to widen the roads and fix the entrance to the campsites, but it’s unlikely it will get approved. If you have a tiny camper, or a smaller Class A, B or C you most likely will not have a problem. All that said the campground is very lovely. Free washer and dryers, which are in good shape. New bathhouses with good showers and water pressure. Shuffleboard and horseshoes. Having a water front site is nice for the view but that was about it. I have a stand up paddle board and I wasn’t allowed to launch it. There is no beach for swimming not that I think you’d want to. I mean it’s called Leech Lake for a reason.

Overall if we had to do it again we would stay there but I know now which sites to pick and I would not do it for longer than 4 days max. It’s a very remote location and unless you are hard core fisherman there just isn’t much to do.
