What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

I found this site very user unfriendly. In trying to develop my trip, I could never see the whole map with the camp sites at one time. So when I found a site that was available, I had to zoom out to see where the site was located in relationship to the site I had already reserved. Why can't there be a map of all the sites in one overview with the numbers so you can click on the site you want and see if it is available? It was so hard to navigate this site, that it took me many hours to reserve five sites for our trip. I should mention that there is a time restraint also, and I timed out many times at the beginning. All this said, I still booked a camp site that I was unable to use because it was to far away to be reached by canoe. Also, the sites are listed in somewhat alphabetical order but all the lakes are listed together so you have to be careful you are booking a site for the proper lake. There are many repeat names. The whole experience was mind numbing. I hated it!!!

You can’t improve the experience, smoke day and all. That was an eye opener for sure! If there is in any way to improve the registering of sites, I accidentally logged a Rainy Lake “Lost Bay” instead of Kabetogama “”Lost Bay”. So we paddled our asses off in big waves. Glad heavy training with boat wakes here in Iowa paid off! No mishaps! Personally I loved it. But... maybe different lakes could be different colors? (Background color on the NP reserve America site?🤷🏽♂️ Ir notify me of different lake itinerary... I had to cancel and re book from what was left for campsites) my bad on details I know. 2 Lost Bay locations different lakes. Kind of difficult to portage or paddle that distance! Stay safe!

As always this park did not disappoint. We prefer to stay in the middle of lake Namakan where cell phone service is minimal to keep the kids engaged with the trip. Each year in august the smallmouth and walleye fishing is solid while the bugs have subdued some compared to earlier months. Tubing is still an option this time of year as well.
The only disappointment this year was the fire ban, but it was expected with the lack of rain.
