What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

A trip to Kettle Fall is always a great time and it was cool to explored steven resort this time.
the one thing about the web sight is that it would only allow me to print my permits 5 days in advance and I would like to see this moved to at least 7 to 14 days ahead.

We spent 2 lovely nights and 3 days out in Voyageurs NP canoeing and camping and it was a complete delight. Hands down I would recommend anyone to experience the beauty and solitude of this place.

Permit web page is not moblie phone friendly. Navigation on permit site clunky at best. It does not matter if using OSI or Android.
Pages on site are not up-to-date, need to navigate back and forth to find correct and up-to-date info on park you are attending.
Call center reps are not much better. Short and act as if your bothering them.

when we were booking our Campsite for My Island West we noticed not all the days we wanted were available. People had reserved the campsite for the following two nights after we were there so we had to pack up and head to a different site. While we didn’t have to travel far (Your Island) was our next stop, it was still inconvenient to pack up and leave a site only to find out that no one checked into the site
For the next two days. We were pretty disappointed. It sat vacant, and on the website it was still showing as booked. Obviously plans change and I get it that maybe the weather played a role in them not coming, however it’s common courtesy to cancel if you are not going to use it. The park should issue a fine or penalty for those that reserve and no show. I love that the costs are reasonable, but this just promotes people booking and if it’s not convenient for them to come they don’t show up and don’t care that they are limiting peoples opportunity to see the park.
I believe we wouldn’t have been so disappointed if it hadn’t been for the fact that Your Island is not easily accessible. The shore is very rocky and the area that does have a little beach is not safe either. Hidden rocks are there and your boat bashes against them when boats Fly through this area creating a large wake. Also when it rains the path leading up to the site is treacherous to say the least. The Bear box becomes emerged in a mud puddle so good luck getting your stuff out without getting wet feet. All in all, Your Island was disappointing. No place to safely park your boat and unload and Please warn people about the very dangerous path when wet. We fell multiple times and in one occasion my family member hurt her wrist as she landed badly trying to pack out our gear in the rain. Loved My Island. Just wish it didn’t sit vacant for two days because someone didn’t have the decency to cancel.

The location was wonderful, but the website for making an itinerary is very difficult to navigate. I tried to reserve a Boundary Waters permit, and accidentally chose the wrong entry point, but couldn't tell, because the entry point # isn't on the confirmation message. Ultimately, I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with a ranger to get it all figured out, but by then I had already purchased maps for the wrong area.
PLEASE PUT THE ENTRY POINT NUMBER ON THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL!
