We would have liked to buy wood here and also the dump station was full so couldn’t use it. Otherwise place was great.

Everyone in our group had compliments to share about our experience at Sandy Lake. Many of the campsite spaces are structured for RV's or campers (tents are not allowed on the grass for some of the sites). During our stay some severe storms were expected. We were pleased and grateful that the host couple and park rangers both came by to make sure we were aware of the forecast and that we knew where shelter areas were located. The storm passed over over without incident and we all had a great time!

We really enjoyed our time at Big Sandy. We visited in July and the staff did a great job at ensuring social distancing between campsites, cleaning facilities, and reassuring guests of cleanliness. Wonderful visit and we will be back again next year!

We love all of our Army Corp of Engineer campgrounds!
The grounds are always well kept. The sites are typically nice sizes.
The rangers are very friendly and helpful! We greatly appreciate that they keep things peaceful and do not tolerate lots of noise and issues

Awesome little bunkhouse tucked away in the woods away from the other campsites. Very nice and clean showers and toilets. The lock and dam were very cool to see.
