There is no SIGN ON HTE PATH TO HTE CAMPER CABIN SAYING IT IS OCCUPIED!! We were having frequent strangers come along with their dogs. Cabin and cabin area were very nice. Visitors were a problem!!!!! PLEASE FIGURE OUT A SIGN SYSTEM SO PEOPLE KNOW WHEN PEOPLE ARE STAYING THERE!!!

Our reservation was for the South Entrance but found it difficult to back in with our 19 ft. travel trailer due to the tight conditions. There was only 10 ft. or less between the other trailers and you had to park perpendicular with our vehicle once the trailer was placed. The other sites by us had the same setup so it created harder access to each campsite. We had to wait until a neighboring campsite moved their parked truck to get hooked back up to leave!
No biking or hiking trails at the campgrounds; basically boating/fishing is the only recreation besides the usual outside grilling (bring your own) and campfire.
Next time we will definitely go to the North Entrance campground; lots of room for each camper and lots of shade!

It's a nice quiet park. Bathrooms are very clean, however the shower heads need to be changed out.

Very peaceful campground, but being able to keep our boat in the water instead of taking it in and out every day was the best! Definitely will camp there again in the future.

The facilities were excellent. There were a lot of bugs at the pit toilets which were attracted by the lights. The tent pad was nice and we had a little chipmunk hanging out with us at our site. The camp host was friendly and gave us good information. 👍 The price was very reasonable.

The camping sites next to the bathrooms, south of the dam are extremely small and tight. They were dirt everywhere, no gravel, and we couldn't even find room to put a tent. I would not recommend them unless you really need to be close to the restroom. The north part of the campground on other side of dam had beautiful, spacious, and shaded sites. We just didn't realize how drastically different they were from the others or we definitely would have chosen them. The bathroom and shower house was extremely nice and clean. The staff were very kind and thoughtful.

My only complaint is that we were in Tent site 1 on the south side, and we had a huge group that was at Tent site 2, they had 3 tents set up and several tents on the other side of them- sites 3-4 along with several people at other sites on the south side. To me it would have made more sense for them to be at a Group site, as they were constantly, dogs(several of them) kids and adults walking by our tent all day every day constantly. Which I understand we are at a site with alot of people close together, however, they would all congregate at site 2 at 6 am and were not quiet!!! It did not make for a very pleasant and relaxing stay unfortunately and I have been coming up to tent at this side for 30 years

We had a wonderful time at Big Sandy Lake. Canadian fires made for some smoke issues, but we had a great time in spite of the smoke, which was not the fault of the campground for sure.
