We first visited this place last year and immediately set up a family camping trip for this year. It’s an awesome campground with a beautiful beach and the best part about it is you can bring your boat and get out onto the big water. Everyone associated with the campground Was very very nice.

The sites in this area are TINY, with campers stacked one on top of each other on both sides of the road. To make things worse, the road is two-way, meaning it's not a loop like a "normal" campground and people need to go back & forth on this narrow road to get in and out of these sites. Even though it's two-way, the road is just a single lane width. To make matters worse, campers are parking right off of the road, making it quite difficult getting in and out. Look at staying in one of the other loops, or at a different campground if those sites are already full. They also did the bathroom cleaning first thing in the morning, so don't expect to use the bathrooms or showers.
On the positive side, it was quiet and peaceful once I was able to squeeze our camper into its tiny little campsite.

What a great Corps campground! Campsite was tidy, facilities nice and clean. Didnt use the beach but I paddleboarded around the bay and used the boat launch. Super enjoyable. The campground hosts were super friendly and helpful. We'd just booked one night as a rest stop on the way home, but will definitely be back for a longer stay.

We love camping at Big Sandy! The campsites and restrooms/showers are clean and well maintained. Having a washer and dryer there is always appreciated! The beach is large, sandy, and it’s nice that a small area of it is in the shade later afternoon. There are 2 playground areas with one smaller one being by the beach. Many enjoy shore fishing in the Mississippi River by the dam. If you have a boat, fishing and boating are a plus on the large, beautiful Big Sandy Lake.

Great quiet little campground for the family. The beach and swimming area were awesome and the kids loved the dam and fishing down in the river.
