Our electric was shut off. We were told it would be 5 minutes. After 2 hours we were told we had to move. Electric would not be restored for days. This was 5 minutes before a massive thunderstorm was going to hit. We had to move in a dangerous storm putting our safety at risk. The park ranger refused to give us a water front site like we had booked. We booked this site 6 months in advance for a 14 day stay specifically for the water front. We were moved to a swamp site and had to move back 2 days later. We were promised a refund which we never saw. Some of the hosts are literally nothing but busybody’s. We were warned by guests and other workers that hosts at this site were nosy and meddlers. They lived up to that reputation. Had it not been for these circumstances we would have enjoyed our stay. The roads are also in ridiculous shape. We will never return to this campground.

We love it at Dewayne Hayes! This is probably our favorite campground. The kids love riding bikes on level ground. (No large hills like other campgrounds) They have a playground which is hard to find at other parks, believe it or not. They also have swings the kids enjoy. They have nice waterfront views and even sewage hookup at some sites. The sites aren’t on top of each other like other campgrounds. I am sad that the splash pad is no longer available. The campground host (Mr. Randy and his wife, Mr Virgil and his wife and Mrs Elsie & her husband) are great people and very helpful.

Family had a fantastic time. Felt safe. Facilities were clean. Grounds were clean. Campsite in prime condition when we arrived. Check in was easy. We enjoyed the trail behind site 98 all weekend. Nice paved trail the little ones could enjoy

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space between campers for privacy. Campground was clean as was the restrooms. We enjoyed being close enough to visit surrounding areas such as West Point and Tupelo as well as Columbus. We will visit again.

This is our favorite Corps of Engineers campground. It's quiet, peaceful, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. We love being able to use our golden age pass.
